Relaxation tips to decrease jaw clenching

My yoga pose of the month – Lion Pose (Simhasana)

Do you know that most ladies hold stress and negative emotions such as anger, resentment, frustration, hostility, fear and guilt in our body. Some holds it in their pelvis (ref to my previous blog by clicking here). Others  hold it in the neck and shoulders, or lower back. And some people tend to hold them in their jaw, they grit their teeth.

Teeth grinding, jaw clenching, and tension can all lead to clenching jaws or jaw pain that interferes with sleep and with everyday life.

For detailed instructions on how to execute this pose, please click here.

Awareness is the first step in releasing painful tension in your jaw. However, be informed that what works for one person might not be as helpful for others. So, below are several pose recommendations, should you find that the lion pose is not suitable.

The Camel Pose – Ustrasana

The Downward Dog Pose – Adho Mukha Svanasan
